The coking of the delayed coking heating furnace tube is the problem of coke generation,coking equipment accessories,and deposition in the furnace tube.The coking rate is the rate at which coke is adsorbed on the furnace tube wall.The influencing factors of coking speed mainly include the following aspects.

(1)Characteristic factor of raw material oil

The coking of the heating furnace tube is also closely related to the properties of the oil.At lower temperatures,the paraffin based components first decompose and coking,and the paraffin based components in the oil have a higher K value(characteristic factor).Due to the fact that paraffin based components are not a good solvent for asphaltene and resin,asphaltene will separate from the liquid phase and coke with increasing temperature.Oil containing a large amount of aromatic hydrocarbons with low K value will enter the critical decomposition stage of coking accessories at higher temperatures,and a large amount of vaporization will cause a sharp increase in the linear velocity inside the tube,resulting in impact and friction on the furnace tube,making it difficult for coke particles to deposit and adhere on the tube wall,thereby avoiding coking inside the heating furnace tube.Therefore,first determine the critical decomposition temperature range of a specific K-value raw material,so that when the medium passes through the critical decomposition temperature range at high temperatures,it is in a turbulent state and avoids being in a larger part of the heat intensity of the heating furnace tube,thereby slowing down the occurrence of coking in the heating afurnace tube.

(2)Raw oil contains salts and solid impurities

The salt content of coking raw materials has a significant impact on the coking of heating furnace tubes.On the one hand,salts are prone to crystallization and precipitation at high temperatures.Due to the enhanced adsorption between salts and metal surfaces at high temperatures,it is easy to cause scaling on the inner wall of heating furnace tubes;In addition,due to the local overheating and resistance caused by salts,it is conducive to the implantation and rapid growth of coke particles,which further exacerbates the coking of hydrocarbons.The raw materials contain insoluble solid impurities such as catalyst powder,which will also accelerate and induce the coking of high-temperature medium in the furnace tube of the heating furnace.When refining the catalytic oil slurry,in order to ensure the quality of Petroleum coke and produce Petroleum coke,it is necessary to control and measure the solid content in the catalytic oil slurry,otherwise not only the coking of the furnace tube will be accelerated,but also the ash content of Petroleum coke will increase.

(3)Conrad's residual carbon

The Conrad residue of residual oil is a commonly used indicator for predicting relative coking tendency,and its residue value is closely related to its chemical composition and structure.Although it cannot directly measure the coking amount of raw oil during the coking process,there is a very good correlation between the Conrad residue of residual oil and the coking coking amount.
